Quick start

1. Invite the bot

Head to the invite page and authorize Vidar for your server. You need the Manage Server permission on that server. Vidar requests only the permissions it needs: Manage Roles, plus reading member joins and sending messages.

2. Position the bot's role

In Server Settings → Roles, drag Vidar's role above the verified and hold roles it will assign. Discord only lets a bot manage roles below its own.

3. Configure in the dashboard

Open the dashboard, select your server, and set:

• Verified role — granted automatically when a member passes.
• Hold role (optional) — applied while verification is pending, so unverified members can't participate.
• Moderator log channel — where held/blocked verifications and raid alerts are posted.

Leave the detection thresholds at their defaults to start; you can tune them later on the detection page.

4. Test it

Run /verify in your server to get your own checkpoint link, or have an alt account join. You'll see the decision appear in the dashboard's Verifications tab with full reasoning.

5. Set up the hold role gate (recommended)

If you use a hold role, make your channels visible only to the verified role (or hide them from the hold role). That way unverified members truly can't act until they pass.
